Papa's Slippers

We went to my parents house on Sunday to celebrate my dad's birthday- (Happy Birthday Dad-love you!) and Avery had fun walking around the house in his slippers. She loves shoes and anything else she can put on her feet lately. (And yes-that is a pony tail in her hair- don't you love it?! )

Avery loves Boz

Avery has developed a deep love for Boz dvd's. She watched them ALOT when she was sick- it was all she wanted to do. We can't say anything related to Boz in front of Avery because then she wants to watch it right away. She will walk up to the t.v. and point and say Boz. Too cute. This picture is of her laying in her basket of stuffed animals watching her good buddy Boz.

Guest Blogger-Avery

Hi Everyone, Usually my mommy writes about me but I think I am big enough now to type on the computer myself. I am having lots of fun this winter even though I can't go outside. I like to play with all my new toys from Christmas and bug my doggy Roscoe. I love you. Love,Avery
P.S. I miss you Great Grandma V and can't wait until spring when I can see you again.

Yuck, Yuck, Yuck

Poor Avery- doesn't she look sad in this picture. Avery had the flu a few weeks ago and it went through our whole family. YUCK! She spent alot of time like this just laying around. She's doing much better now though and we are so thankful for a healthy little girl again.

Children's Museum

Avery had a blast on Friday at the Children's Museum. There is so much to see and do. She loved the bubble station and would have really made a mess if we let her. She had fun in the penquin play area too. What a fun day.

Cousins

Avery playing with her cousins on New Years Day.

Critter Barn

My mom and I took Avery to the Critter Barn to see the live nativity. We tried 3 times to go but couldn't because of bad weather. When we finally did make it- the weather was still not good but it was our last chance. Avery loved seeing all the critters. She wanted to hold the little chicks but I'm sure she would have squished it. It was a great reminder of what Christmas is all about.

So Sleepy

This is what happens after all the Christmas fun- you fall asleep in your high chair when you are supposed to be eating lunch. So cute...

Beautiful Music

She's a natural at the piano- she must get that from her Grandma V. :)

Christmas with the VZBG's

We celebrated on Christmas day with my family. We had a fun filled day. Avery got a pony! Avery again had so much fun opening presents but most of all enjoyed being the center of attention all day. She is such a ham- I think the pictures show it all.

Christmas-Just us

Christmas Eve with Kuipers

We celebrated Christmas with the Kuipers on Christmas Eve. Avery had fun with her cousins and we had a good time watching all the kids. Of course, we couldn't get the perfect picture of three kids but it turned out pretty good. We are so blessed.

Merry Christmas

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Love- K, K & a (& Roscoe)

Christmas baking

Avery has been "helping" me get my Christmas baking done.

Congrats!

Scott & Kelli are getting married. We are so excited!

Here comes trouble

This picture doesn't even need any words. (Sorry it's sideways.)

Watching Cartoons

Avery likes to watch a few cartoons in the morning before she starts her day. Current favorites are Blue's Clues and Franklin.

Snow Days

We have been snowed in a lot lately. We've been busy building forts, playing hide and seek, wrapping presents and getting ready for Christmas.

Santa Claus

We took Avery to see Santa Claus at Rivertown Mall and she liked the jolly 'ol fellow. She just sat on his lap and smiled at him the whole time.

A fun night

Last night I got a fun night out. I stood in line for 3 hours to meet and have my book signed by Kate Gosselin, author and star of TLC's hit show Jon & Kate Plus Ei8ht. It was awesome. She walked right by us a couple of times. It was very fun. Grandma- I know you are jealous. :)
You should have seen the line. I got in line at 5:30 and we had our turn at 8:30. The signing was at Barnes & Noble in Rivertown Mall and the line was through their entire store wound through every row and the into the mall down to and through Sears and outside. CRAZY but totally worth it. Thanks Kate!

For Today...

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

Just for the afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

Just for the afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by.

Just for the afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

Just for the afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.

Just for the afternoon, I will take us both to McDonalds and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.

Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite tv show.

Just for this evening when I run my fingers through your hair as your pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.

I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.

And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you and ask Him for nothing, except one more day...

I received this message today in an email from a friend and it touched me. I have heard so many sad stories lately about children that my heart hurts for them. Our time on earth is precious- make the most of each day. I hope this touched you today, like it did me. Love you all.

Bare Back

When Avery gets out of the tub now, she runs right to the living room and runs and dances around. This night she decided to take a ride on her horse.

Blessed

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I know that this is late but I didn't want to skip this post. We pigged out- how about you?
We are so thankful for so many things. Hope you feel as blessed as us!

Eyes, Ears, Mouth & Nose

Where is Avery's nose? (Yes, her finger is up her nose. :))

Where did Avery go?

Avery likes to sit on my magazine basket behind the chair. It's her favorite place to sit.

Sleep tight little one

This is how Avery took her nap yesterday. She tossed and turned all over her crib and this was the position that she decided on. Notice the foot between the rails.

Happy Halloween

Avery was a chicken for Halloween. Thanks Grandma V for the cute costume. Avery thought it was so funny and she looked so cute! We went over to our friends Lu & Missy's house and helped them hand out candy. Avery loved seeing all the kids.
